Three solidarity concerts and a stage: the violinist Linus Roth returns to Ibiza with the international festival “Ibiza Concerts”
These musical meetings will be held at the Cloister of the Ibiza Town Hall, in Dalt Vila, and part of what is collected will go to our Association
On August 30, the renowned violinist Linus Roth will return to Ibiza to direct the international festival ‘Ibiza Concerts’ which celebrates its second edition in the Cloister of the Dominican Convent of the City of Ibiza, in Dalt Vila, until September 1. This encounter with classical music will be beneficial and will feature three different concerts, on the same stage. Part of the collection of tickets will go to our Association. A festival that will be present in addition to Linus Roth with his violin Stradivarius, other internationally renowned artists such as the Argentine pianist José Gallardo, the Albanian Kosovar guitarist Petrit Ceku or the German cellist Jens-Peter Maintz. The first concert, on August 30, will begin at 9:00 p.m. under the title ‘Spanish Serenade’, a tribute to the classical music of our country. The next day, on August 31, and again at 9:00 p.m., it will be the session’s turn under the title ‘Nicolo Paganni – The Devil’s Violinist’, an evening that will be a tribute to this Italian artist and others Musicians linked to him. Finally, on September 1, this festival will close at the same time with ‘Popular Dances’, where you can listen to tangos and other pieces like ‘the Hungarian dances’ by Johannes Brahms.
The price of tickets will be 20 euros per person and 10 euros for children under 14 years and can already be purchased on the website www.ibizaconcerts.com. “We are very grateful to Linus for his support of our Association and for how he values the work we have been doing for the cancer patients of Ibiza and Formentera for 18 years to receive the support they need,” said IFCC President Helen Watson. “For him, the actions we promote for prevention against this disease and for direct help are very important and for us that artists of his level are at our side makes us stronger, in fact his music is really therapeutic,” he concluded.
IFCC, 18 years next to Pitiusas cancer patients
Our Association Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer, IFCC, is a non-governmental and non-profit organization aimed at the fight against this disease in the Pitiusas. IFCC has been helping cancer patients from the islands of Ibiza and Formentera for 18 years by offering their support to the sick and their families and collaborating with the health services of the Balearic Islands, to promote improvements that have a greater quality of care.
Thus, in recent years our Association has launched different projects such as the acquisition of several vehicles for the Palliative Care Unit of the Can Misses Hospital, the purchase of several equipment aimed at performing colonoscopies at the Formentera Hospital, the financing of the pilot colon cancer screening program of the Health Area of Ibiza and Formentera, the hiring of a physiotherapist for the Lymphedema Unit of the Can Misses Hospital or the elaboration, printing and dissemination of different advice and care guides for cancer patients, among other actions.
