Students sold charity T-shirts and baked goods as part of activities held for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Morna International College students raise €8,908 for the Ibiza y Formentera Contra el Cáncer (IFCC) Association through solidarity activities during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Over one week, students held a charity T-shirt sale designed by Art Director Tom Galli and organised a “Pink Day” bake sale, offering cakes, cookies, and sweets, with participation from the youngest students to seniors.
Led by first-year Baccalaureate student Carlie Torres Harwood, the theatre students and student council raised €5,467 from the T-shirt sale of ‘Pink Ladies’ and ‘T-Bird’ designs, and €3,441 from the “Pink Day” bake sale. On that day, students replaced uniforms with these T-shirts and wore pink ribbons to demonstrate their commitment to fighting cancer.
The Ibiza y Formentera Contra el Cáncer (IFCC) Association expressed their deep gratitude for “the efforts of all students and the Morna International College student council for their incredible dedication and solidarity, to Carlie Torres Harwood for organising this event, and to the staff, parents, and friends who have supported us this month through various activities.” They also noted that the funds raised will go towards purchasing a new vehicle to support cancer patients on the island who lack access to transport.
