IFCC raises 400 euros in its latest charity walk through the Es Broll de Buscastell valley
This event took place yesterday and saw the participation of around 50 people, including representatives from the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council
The Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association, IFCC, raised 400 euros in its latest charity walk, which took place yesterday through the valley of Es Broll de Buscastell, in Sant Mateu d’Albarca. A total of 48 people participated in the walk, among whom was Antonio Marí, Councillor for Economy and Treasury of the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council and responsible for the geographical area of Sant Mateu d’Albarca. Neus Mateu, First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Public Works, Infrastructure, and Citizen Security of the municipality, and Jorge Nacher, Councillor for Youth, Social Welfare, Equality, and Citizen Participation, welcomed the attendees upon their arrival at the end of the walk.
The route consisted of a “simple circular course of 8.9 kilometres through the terraced crop fields, set at different levels and built during the Arab rule era,” explained the IFCC. The walk, which combined nature and history, included various stops where participants took the opportunity to take photos, hydrate, and rest.
“We are very pleased with the reception of this initiative by the Ibiza population. More and more people see these charity routes as a way to contribute to the fight against cancer through exercise and contact with nature,” highlighted the local Association, from where they thanked the “participation and support of the members of the Sant Antoni de Portmany Town Council”.
During 2024, IFCC has planned a series of healthy routes through which to “showcase some of the most beautiful corners of the island” while supporting the projects this local NGO works on.
The next charity walk is scheduled for Sunday, 24th March and will cover the ses Salines de Ibiza Natural Park
