This charity event will be open to the public at the Sant Jordi Sports Club from 10:00 to 18:00 for a donation price of 5 euros

Former French footballer and World Cup and European Cup winner, Robert Pirès, will referee this Saturday 6th May, the charity match organised by Morna International College in aid of the Ibiza and Formentera Against Cancer Association, IFCC, which aims to surpass the 8,000 euros raised in its first edition in December 2021. This sports event, which will be held at the Sant Jordi Sports Club and with a donation entry fee of 5 euros per person, is aimed at funding the projects that IFCC carries out to improve the quality of life for cancer patients in the Pitiusas.

This event, which will begin at 10:00 and last until 18:00, is part of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards 2023, an international educational programme promoted by Morna, which offers its students the opportunity to discover their talents and interests, set personal challenges and push personal boundaries.

During this day, the public will be able to watch the primary and secondary school teams from this centre compete, as well as enjoy a second match between secondary school students and teachers featuring Robert Pirès himself, along with Austrian footballer Dominik Braunsteiner, who will also referee during the event. This sporting event will also include a food and drink section, and other activities for the whole family, culminating in a charity raffle for which great prizes have been collected, such as two nights for two people at a 4-star Spa Hotel, a day on a boat for nine people between Ibiza and Formentera, an iPhone 13, or a family adventure day, among others.

The cost of each raffle ticket will be 5 euros, and 15 euros for four tickets. The organisers of Morna International College have already started selling these tickets, which can be purchased from Monday to Friday from 15:45 to 16:30 at the reception of this centre located in Santa Gertrudis, as well as by calling 666 991 336.

IFCC, 22 years supporting cancer patients in the Pityusic Islands and their families

For 22 years, the Ibiza and Formentera Cancer Association (IFCC) has been supporting cancer patients in Ibiza and Formentera by funding treatments, medical supplies, and informational brochures for cancer prevention. In the last decade, they have donated a total of 26 state-of-the-art reclining chairs for oncology patients at Can Misses Hospital, along with five televisions with built-in headphones for the chemotherapy room. Thanks to the donations from their numerous members and the charity events they organise, IFCC has also financed the decoration of the oncology nursing consultation room and the Palliative Care Unit consultation room, the acquisition of an endoscope for Formentera Hospital, the launch of a colon cancer and lymphedema screening project in the Pityusic Islands, as well as several cars for the Palliative Care Unit. Furthermore, this NGO has published informational brochures for the Oncology Day Hospital, with recommendations for patients undergoing chemotherapy, breast surgery, and ostomy treatments.
